We are always happy to discuss with you cake options within your budget and are happy to give you a quotation of costs and options to help you with your decision. Once a final decision is made on the cake we will send you the final order form (with costs) and a deposit of 20% of the total order value will be required to secure the date and enable ingredients and sundries to be ordered. A further 30% of the total order price will be due  weeks before event and the balance will be due on the collection or delivery of your cake. We accept payment by cheque or bank transfer.
Wedding cakes will be available for collection up to 2 days before the wedding, and other cakes will be made available as agreed with you. Alternatively, we may be able to arrange delivery and set up at your venue. Delivery and set up is free within a ten mile radius of Caterham. Set up and delivery outside a ten mile radius of Caterham is subject to agreement on availability and additional cost. Large cakes may incur additional charges for set up at the wedding venue. We will let you know the costs at the time of order.
Amendments to your order may impact the cost and delivery date for your cake. We will try our best to accommodate any changes to your order but depending on the size and complexity of the cake ordered preparations for your cake may take some time and some amendments (especially last minute) may not be easily accommodated. We will agree with you any amendments or your order and notify you of the impact on cost and delivery.
We understand that plans change but please also understand that we incur costs in purchasing ingredients and other items upon receipt of a confirmed order. For cancellations made at least twelve weeks prior to the agreed date 50% of the deposit will be retained. For cancellations within twelve weeks of the agreed date none of the amounts paid as at the date of cancellation date will be refunded. In addition, any special items ordered for the cake will need to be paid for if already ordered.
We have a number of stands, separators, cake knives and other additional equipment that can be hired.
We will require a deposit against the safe return of these items in good condition and would ask for them to be returned to us within three days of the event. If items are not returned, returned damaged or with pieces missing we will not refund all or any of your deposit (at our discretion). If you are going away after the event please let us know who will deliver them back or arrange with us how these items will be returned (any additional costs incurred for the return of items is to be borne by you).
Cakes and their decorations are fragile and care should be taken in the handling and transport of the cakes. When transporting the cakes use a clean, clear non-slip flat surface, do not transport the cake on the seat of a vehicle as these are not flat or secure. Keep the cake out of direct sunlight, keep away from heat. If possible store the cake in its box in a cool dry area. Do not store in a refrigerator or damp place as this the will damage the cake.
The cake (and decorations) when collected by or delivered to you will be in good condition ready for your event. We are not responsible for any damage to or deterioration of the cake (or decorations) after they have been collected or delivered. We strongly suggest you take note of the suggestions for care of your cake above to ensure your cake stays beautiful for your event.
Please speak to us about any allergies or diary requirements and we will try and accommodate wherever possible but please be aware that while we can ensure that our cakes do not contain eggs, citrus fruit, nuts, alcohol, wheat or other allergens notified to us, these ingredients are used in our kitchen and we cannot guarantee that there will be no contamination.
Cakes may include some non-edible items such as wires, decorative stones & gems ribbons, real flowers, feathers, and supports. These items should be removed before the cake is cut, please ensure any caterers or third parties are aware of this.
Life is unpredictable, and in the event that delivery/collection cannot be made or is delayed due to adverse weather, road closure, vehicle breakdown, traffic conditions, accident, riot, demonstration or other act of God or government we will do our best to work with you to make alternative arrangements but we cannot be held liable or responsible. We understand that some Wedding insurance covers these types of events and would encourage you to consider whether such insurance is appropriate for your event. We have our own insurance but it does cover these type of events.
